Making Peace: Stories of Outreach and Connection

City of Evanston Youth Outreach Workers

Join Peaceable Cities Evanston for a special opportunity to hear the stories of the City of Evanston’s Youth and Young Adult Division outreach workers – whose mission is to offer young people with life challenges multiple closely aligned pathways to success. Through programs ranging from job training to one-on-one mentoring, the COE’s Youth and Young Adult team “reaches out” to at-risk and gang-involved youth, ages 14 to 26, linking them to the conventional world and needed services. From their personal experiences and perspectives, the outreach workers will share what it means – and what it takes – to restore individuals to productive places and safe spaces in our community and how making peace on the streets can radically change the lives of young people, keeping hope alive.

Tuesday, May 22nd
7:00pm
